Our Doctors

Dr. Crystal Warming

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine & Medical Director at Rockford Road Animal Hospital (she/her)

Dr. Warming is originally from Northwest Iowa. It was there that her father owned and operated a small animal veterinary clinic for over 40 years. Growing up she always had a close bond with her numerous dogs, cats, and guinea pigs, but didn’t initially intend to be a veterinarian like her father. It wasn’t until college that she realized that the veterinary profession was the perfect fit for her as it combined her interest in medicine with her strong love of animals. She received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Iowa State University in 2010 and then went on to graduate with honors from veterinary school in 2014 through the same university.

She fell in love with all the Twin Cities area has to offer during trips to visit her sister who has lived in the area for many years. She started her career at a small animal practice in Minnesota and worked there for seven years before joining the team at RRAH. Dr. Warming has a passion for all areas of small animal Veterinary Medicine, but especially enjoys soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and dermatology. She is a strong proponent of Fear Free techniques and works to make each and every one of your pet’s visits as stress-free as possible.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Warming enjoys spending time with her family which includes her husband, two energetic young daughters, and her incredibly goofy Basset Hound, Hugo. As a family, they enjoy doing anything outdoors (especially biking), cheering on their favorite sports teams, and finding new hidden gems in the Twin Cities (she would love to hear about your favorites!) They also love to travel and visit family and friends whenever possible.

Dr. Leen Mesa

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (he/his)

My first glance into veterinary medicine was when I was eight years old visiting my dad at his job for “Take Your Kid to Work Day” school event. He used to work as a technician at an animal clinic owned by a family friend. Once surrounded by animals and a team of people dedicated to their care, it did not take long for me to realize that becoming a veterinarian would be a lifelong passion of mine.

As a Cuban-American originally from Miami, Florida, if you speak Spanish, please feel welcome to “saludarme!” After spending the majority of my time in the Sunshine State, I moved up north to study veterinary medicine at the University of Minnesota, graduating in 2018. After graduation, I completed a year-long small animal rotating internship at the Animal Emergency and Referral Center of Minnesota.

Throughout my veterinary career, I have developed interests in diagnostic imaging, ophthalmology, and dermatology. I am also passionate about owner education, community outreach, and providing mentorship for prospective veterinary students.

Outside of RRAH, I enjoy spending time with my partner Elora and the sweet cinnamon bun of a cat named Pattypan, who was named after the squash. I also love jamming out on my ukulele and guitar, exploring the cities by bicycle, and, as a proud foodie, I am always on the lookout for good restaurants in the Cities.

I am excited to meet you and your furry loved ones, and will happily take any food spots you recommend!

Dr. Callyssa Cronick

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (she/her)

Dr. Cronick received her DVM from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine.
